This week we ended our dialogue projects with our partners. I took the time to very breifly reflect on the experience of communicating with people my own age from around the country. For me, I thought this whole opportunity to talk to someone abroad was very useful because it gave me some insight into my own culture and ethnicity. In our age of modernization and technology, we sometimes lose sight of where we came from and who are ancestors are. When I read the traditional stories sent to me by my partner, it made me realize that no matter how "American" I may live my life or think that I have become, I will always have my ethnic and ancestral roots in Chinese culture and tratition that I must never forget.
